Basco acquires Phoenix-based Sun West Container

With a combined 90 years of experience in the Southwest, packaging and container leaders unite to enhance geographic reach.

Two leading companies in industrial packaging and equipment sales combined forces today as University Park-based Basco announced the acquisition of Phoenix-based Sun West Container Company.

“It’s a natural combination,” said Basco CEO Richard Rudy. “Both companies are dedicated to getting everything right for our customers. Industrial packaging is our only business and we do it better than anybody. With this acquisition, we’ll be able to extend BASCO’s wide selection, expert service and superior value to more customers throughout the Southwest and across the country.”

Basco plans to maintain the status quo in both companies. “We’re not going to mess with success when it comes to customer service,” said Scott Millinowisch, manager of customer service for Basco. “The two companies share a common ethic and philosophy about servicing customers. Customers of both companies will continue to deal with the people they’ve always known and been able to rely on.”

Basco, a privately held company, was founded over 65 years ago as Barrel Accessories & Supply Company. Today they are industry leaders in industrial packaging and container products, with a diverse range of products providing a variety of alternative solutions to packaging and container applications.
