Designed Conveyor Systems (DCS) acquires supply chain consultancy Waller & Associates

Acquisition formalizes existing partnership between the two organizations, allowing each to expand its service offerings to customers in commercial and government sectors.

Material handling systems integrator Designed Conveyor Systems (DCS) has announced its acquisition of Waller & Associates LLC, a supply chain consulting firm with locations in Atlanta and Dallas.

Founded by President and CEO Jeff Waller in 2009, Waller & Associates’ focus is on helping clients identify opportunities to improve their existing warehousing and distribution processes, as well as to facilitate the changes required to make those improvements. The firm has extensive experience across multiple industries, and with several logistics and distribution organizations within the U.S. government and its contractors.

The successful partnership between the two companies, noted Matt Ferguson, President of DCS, has been marked by strong collaboration. “There are multiple synergies between Waller & Associates and DCS in approaching supply chain challenges,” he stated. “Both organizations are committed to providing truly independent, best-of-breed recommendations and solutions.”

Under the terms of the agreement, Waller & Associates will become a subsidiary of DCS and continue to operate as an independent consultant. That is, its clients are not obligated to utilize DCS for subsequent systems integration work unless they choose to do so.

“Waller & Associates is excited to formalize our partnership with DCS,” said Jeff Waller. “We look forward to combining our capabilities with DCS’ processes, resources, and tools to deliver even greater value to both firms’ customers.”

Mark Kidwell, Senior Director of Strategic Development at DCS, agreed. “Adding Waller & Associates augments the breadth of DCS’ consulting capabilities while enhancing our total depth of consulting expertise,” he said. “It also further expands DCS’ consulting service offerings.”

Both firms offer complementary supply chain optimization and design services, added Waller. “In addition to distribution center assessments and design, we also offer logistics network optimization consulting, and extensive operational process improvement services — both in terms of workflows and supply chain software implementations,” he said. “DCS has much more extensive expertise in end-to-end hardware and automation systems design. Together, we offer customers in both the commercial industry and government sectors a one-stop solution.”
