Commerce and NRF report January retail sales start 2020 with growth
Commerce reported that January retail sales—at $529.8 billion—were 0.2% ahead of December’s revised $528.4 billion and were up 0.3% annually. NRF reported that January retail sales rose 0.2% on a seasonally adjusted basis over December and were up 2.7% unadjusted on an annual basis.

NRF and Dept. of Commerce report October retail sales gains
Commerce reported that October retail sales, at $526.5 billion, were up 0.3% compared to September and up 3.1% annually. NRF reported that October retail sales were up 0.2% from September to October on a seasonally adjusted basis and up 4.2% on an unadjusted basis.

September retail sales see annual gains
Commerce reported that September retail sales, at $525.6 billion, were off 0.3% compared to August will rising 4.1% compared to September 2018. NRF reported that September retail sales were off 0.1%, from August to September, on a seasonally adjusted basis and up 4.5% on an unadjusted basis annually.

June retail sales see gains, report Commerce and NRF
Commerce reported that June retail sales, at $519.9 billion, were up 0.4% compared to May and up 3.4% compared to June 2018. NRF reported that June retail sales were up 0.6% in June on a seasonally-adjusted basis compared to May, and up 2.3% annually on an unadjusted basis.

Commerce and NRF data show gains for May retail sales
Commerce reported that May retail sales, at $519.0 billion, were up 0.5% compared to April and up 3.2% annually. NRF reported that May retail sales were up 0.5% in May on a seasonally-adjusted basis compared to April, and up 3.2% annually on an unadjusted basis.

Commerce reported that February retail sales dipped 0.1% from January to February at $492.0 billion, while seeing a 4.0% annual gain. NRF reported that its retail sales data, which excludes automobiles, gas stations, and restaurants, saw a 0.3% seasonally adjusted gain from January to February and a 4.4% annual gain.

Following a decline in August, retail sales rebounded in September, according to data issued today by the United States Department of Commerce and the National Retail Federation (NRF).

August retail sales down from July and up annually
Department of Commerce and NRF report August retail sales dropped 0.3% compared to July at $456.3 billion and were up 1.9% annually.

May retail sales data from Commerce and NRF turn in promising performances
Commerce reported that May retail sales at $455.6 billion rose 0.5 percent over April, and the NRF said retail sales saw a 3.2 percent annual increase in May.
