The rapid growth of omnichannel and multichannel distribution is pressuring shippers to perform to ever-higher standards, meaning warehouse managers need to find more effective ways to manage human resources.
Among companies surveyed for a recent study conducted on behalf of Kronos®, approximately half of respondents expect omnichannel costs to increase in the next 12 months. Of those, 66 percent say their labor costs are currently up 15 percent and 62 percent estimate labor costs will grow 12 percent in the upcoming months.
Clearly, without an effective labor management strategy, shippers risk losing business and wasting money.
