Coming off of a month which saw its highest reading in a year, non-manufacturing activity in March still showed positive signs, according to data released today by the Institute for Supply Management (ISM).

Gains in New Orders and Employment lead the way for a 1.4 percent sequential improvement.

In its monthly Non-Manufacturing Report on Business, the ISM reported that the index it uses to measure non-manufacturing growth—known as the NMI—was 54.7 percent in November, up 0.5 percent from October.

Non-manufacturing activity in June was down slightly from May but still at a healthy level overall, according to the June edition of the Institute for Supply Management’s (ISM) Non-Manufacturing Report on Business.

Non-manufacturing activity is off to a good start in 2012, based on the results of the Institute for Supply Management’s January NMI, its index for measuring the sector’s overall health.

While November marked the two-year anniversary of consecutive growth in the non-manufacturing sector, December made sure the push for three straight growth years got moving in the right direction, according to the Institute for Supply Management (ISM).

The ISM’s index for measuring the sector’s overall health—known as the NMI—was 52.7 in July, a 0.6 percent decline from June. A reading above 50 represents growth. And even with the sequential decline in the NMI the report showed growth in the non-manufacturing sector for the 20th consecutive month.

The ISM’s index for measuring the sector’s overall health—known at the NMI—was 59.7 in January, a 2.3 percent increase from December. Like the ISM’s Manufacturing Report on Business, a reading above 50 represents growth.

The Institute of Supply Management reported today in its December Non-Manufacturing Report on Business that the non-manufacturing sector remained on a growth path for the 12th straight month. The ISM’s index for measuring the sector’s overall health—known at the NMI—was 57.1 in December, a 2.1 percent increase from November. Like the ISM’s Manufacturing Report on Business, a reading above 50 represents growth.

The Institute of Supply Management’s (ISM) Non-Manufacturing Report on Business for October continued the momentum it showed in September.
