3D Systems celebrates Manufacturing Day with open house events Nationwide

Public is invited to experience the latest in advanced manufacturing at select 3D Systems locations.

3D Systems announced today that it plans to host several Manufacturing Day open house events on Friday October 4, 2013. 3D Systems invites the public to participate in a series of interactive demonstrations of its latest professional and consumer content-to-print products including its production-grade printers.

The company plans to showcase its advanced metal, plastic, ceramic and full color printing capabilities along with its innovative design and inspection tools and its award winning consumer 3D printers, Cube and CubeX. Participating locations include the company’s headquarters in Rock Hill, S.C., its advanced research and manufacturing location in Andover, Mass., and its software center in Morrisville, N.C. Registration remains open until Friday October 4, 2013 at 9am.

Manufacturing Day gives leading American manufacturing companies the opportunity to open their doors in unity and tell today’s story of advanced manufacturing. Manufacturing Day is co-produced and sponsored by manufacturing industry organizations including Fabricators & Manufacturers Association (FMA), U.S. Department of Commerce’s Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP), National Association of Manufacturers, Manufacturing Institute and the Science Channel.

“We are excited to open our doors to our local communities and show how 3D Systems is manufacturing the future right here at home. Engineers, students, designers, doctors, architects and even families at home can participate in the next manufacturing revolution,” said Cathy Lewis, chief marketing officer, 3D Systems. “We believe that the environmental sustainability of 3D printing technology including localized manufacturing, less material usage and mass customization capabilities of 3D printing is changing the way we create and make everything, from the cars we drive and medical devices we need to the jewelry we wear.”
