AMETEK Prestolite Power (Booth 2063) introduced the TruBID lift truck battery charging system. The first of its kind to solve the motive battery industry’s biggest problem—how to accurately measure an undercharged battery so it can be properly recharged—TruBID solves the age-old issue of uncertainty in getting batteries charged to their maximum capacity.
Designed to prevent frequent motive battery charging, TruBID minimizes costly battery replacements and helps improve the efficiency of manufacturing and warehousing operations. Jim Lichtenberg, business manager, said TruBID is innovative because it accurately measures the specific gravity of the electrolyte in the battery.
“That’s the only truly accurate way to determine the state of charge of any battery and ensuring a full recharge every time,” Lichtenberg said, noting that the charging system reports an accurate measurement of undercharge and minimizes sulfation (i.e., the damage caused when large crystalline deposits build in the undercharged battery).
