Incorporating new robots, workstations and bins, the Black Line robotic, high-density, high-throughput cube storage system was unveiled by AutoStore business development manager Mark Hasler and general manager Paul Roy in a Tuesday press conference in Booth S3923.
“Black Line robots are slimmer and lighter than our previous Red Line model, allowing tighter robot clusters working within a system,” CEO Karl Johan Lier noted. “This reduced weight, combined with new direct-drive wheels, enables faster inertia with reduced energy usage.”
Lier added that the new robots are powered by exchangeable Lithium-ion batteries, significantly cutting downtime between recharges. The new robots can be inducted into existing systems utilizing the Red Line robots, as shown in the company’s exhibit.
