Crown Equipment opens company-owned facility in Atlanta

The new 120,000-square-foot facility features a state-of-the-art Demonstrated Performance Service Training Center with expanded offerings for service technicians and forklift operators, as well as additional capacity for customer service.

Crown Equipment Corporation, one of the world’s leading forklift manufacturers, today announced the opening of its new branch in Duluth, Georgia. The new 120,000-square-foot facility features a state-of-the-art Demonstrated Performance Service Training Center with expanded offerings for service technicians and forklift operators, as well as additional capacity for customer service.

“We’ve seen steady growth in the Atlanta area since Crown first opened a branch there in 1984,” said Jim Ellis, senior vice president, Crown Equipment. “Our new location almost triples the space of our last facility, allowing us to better serve our customers and provide advanced training for forklift technicians and operators.”

In the branch’s training center, service technicians will work with instructors to further develop their skills with customized lessons appropriate for individual ability levels. Crown’s Demonstrated Performance program allows each participant to work at his or her own pace and receive personalized feedback from instructors. The Atlanta facility features classrooms with the latest audio/visual equipment to enhance learning for operators, trainers and training leaders.

“We expect to educate more than 300 Crown employees, customer technicians and independent Crown dealer technicians at the Atlanta facility each year,” said Mike Virga, southeast general manager, Crown Equipment. “Training sessions are conducted approximately 46 weeks per year and provides technicians with near-constant access to the latest tools and equipment to further develop their skills.”

Crown Atlanta has been recognized among Crown Equipment-owned branches and independent dealers for achievements in sales and customer satisfaction, winning four of the company’s Summit Awards and two Ascent Awards.

The branch is located at 3060 Premiere Parkway in Duluth and can be reached directly at (770) 381-4999.
