The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals’ (CSCMP) Young Professionals’ Committee has introduced the first-ever Roundtable Global Challenge.
Sponsored by APL Logistics, the Roundtable Global Challenge is a diversity initiative designed to bridge the generational gaps by providing an interactive educational competition using Inchainge’s supply chain simulation game called The Fresh Connection. Working in teams of four representing young professionals, middle management, and senior executives, the competition creates a platform where millennials and seasoned professionals discuss new ideas to develop a winning supply chain strategy for the same fictional company.
The challenge begins with each roundtable holding local competitions among multiple teams to ensure that the best team is selected to represent the group in the Roundtable Global Challenge. Local competitions will take place between October 15 and December 30, 2015. Global teams will be selected in January 2016, and three rounds will be played throughout February, March, and April 2016. Each team will encounter challenging scenarios, requiring the collective knowledge and experience of team members to make the best tactical and strategical decisions.
The three top-scoring teams will be invited to participate in the final competition that will be held during the 2016 Roundtable Leadership Forum in Southern California. Each member of the winning team will receive an all-expense paid trip to CSCMP’s Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida, September 25-28, 2016, where team members will be invited on stage and recognized for their accomplishments.
Attendees of CSCMP’s 2015 Annual Conference in San Diego, California, September 27-30, are invited to visit the Roundtable Service Center booth at the San Diego Convention Center to meet the organization’s partners at Inchainge and experience The Fresh Connection game live and in person.
