In a press conference Monday, Daifuku Webb (Booth 4918) showcased its full line of automated supply chain solutions, including systems integrated with Wynright’s conveyor, sortation and picking products. (Wynright was acquired by Daifuku Webb in October 2013.)
“The addition of Wynright’s expertise in system integrations, plus its full line of products, lets Daifuku Webb offer a total package of solutions—including engineering, consulting, integration, manufacturing, controls and software design, installation and service,” explained Sarah Carlson, marketing director.
That integrated logistics expertise is detailed in a video of a recent greenfield installation at Sketchers’ 1.8-million-square-foot facility in California. The project incorporates two mini-load automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS) from Daifuku Webb with Wynright’s conveyors and sorters.
Also on display is the Model 100TT SmartCart automatic guided cart (AGC) system, equipped with an ergonomic stop-and-go button to support order fulfillment. As it navigates a pre-defined route, the cost-effective AGC moves products on an assembly line, transports goods through a facility, or provides a platform for picked inventory.
“These AGVs can also be equipped with our SmartPanel touch-screen interface that lets users communicate directly with a vehicle, guiding its locations and tasks,” Carlson said. “We’ve also released an app that lets users control the AGCs’ movement on their mobile device.”
