At a press conference Monday, Dematic (Booth 3047) presented warehouse execution software and hardware representing a mix of low, mid and high levels of equipment and technology solutions.
Powered by Dematic iQ Performance Optimizing Software, the solutions are intended to address the dramatic shift toward increased customer expectations in environments driven by traditional (wave), on-demand (waveless) or hybrid (wave and waveless) fulfillment.
“We call this trend the ‘Tyranny of Now,’” said Ulf Henriksson, Dematic president and CEO. “Not only are customers demanding fast delivery, they are expecting it to be predictable, flexible and easy to make returns.”
The booth also includes a demonstration of Dematic Reddwerks (Booth 737) RaceTrack, a piece-picking solution using a zone-free, pick-to-light workflow. The MonaLisa Pouch System and Goods-on-Hanger System showcased the benefits of automation for expediting orders and handling returns. Other technologies on display include robotic picking, order consolidation, case sequencing buffer, deep lane pallet staging and fork automatic guided vehicle (AGV) pallet handling.
