Why Automate and Why Rocla?
Wednesday, April 14th, 10:15 AM CDT
We will explore why automation is an inevitable solution in today’s manufacturing, warehousing and distribution operations, and why Rocla is your complete solution with scalable and flexible technologies.

Rocla FleetController – Next Generation Software for Automation with AGVs
Operators can easily integrate the Rocla FleetController with their warehouse management system (WMS) and can effectively manage intralogistics transports. Under this architecture, WMS integration is less exhaustive and simplified, allowing customers to modernize their operations all while delivering cost savings and improved uptime.

Combining efficiency with ease of use, FleetController is a software solution for Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs). The software has been developed to design, build, and run AGV Solutions. Each AGV system is a unique solution, designed together with the customer and defined to fit the customer- and industry-specific needs.

The software features a dashboard tool that provides real-time data to track, optimize and problem-solve an AGV fleet. This tool connects with the Rocla cloud, instantly backing up data, while enabling technology and logistics managers and Rocla support to identify predictive and corrective diagnostics on the spot. The dashboard is also available as a standalone extension to existing AGV systems.

The Rocla FleetController comes equipped with standard features that include route and order optimizers that allows for improved transport efficiency and utilization of bigger AGV fleets. With the software, operators can also take advantage of vehicle charging capabilities that extend battery life and reduce downtime.

FleetController offers a flexible platform that connects all components needed to manage and maintain efficient AGV operations. It integrates with the WMS and manages the intralogistics transports. In the renewed FleetController architecture, the integration is light and straightforward. The enabling technologies and architectural choices need to be commonly used and easy to integrate. In practice, these interfaces translate to saving time and money in system implementations and modernization projects.

As a part of the modular system software design, layers of algorithms optimize orders and routes through continuous computing. This increases transport efficiency, allows for dynamic recalculations and rerouting, and enables the use of larger AGV fleets. The stack of algorithms is designed to compute and optimize the traffic so that there is no need for static traffic rules and the system stays deadlock-free at all times.
