Industrial Steel Drum Institute unveils new web resource

Website to become repository of issue-based advisories on topics important to manufacturers, buyers and shippers of steel drums in the United States.

The Industrial Steel Drum Institute (ISDI) is proud to unveil a new resource: a section of the organization’s website dedicated to information critical for the success of the steel drum industry.

The Alerts page provides a regularly updated repository of issue-based advisories on topics important to manufacturers, buyers and shippers of steel drums in the United States.

“This new resource makes available key information not only for ISDI’s members, but the entire industry,” said Kyle R. Stavig, chairman of ISDI. “Our Alerts page should be the go-to source for anyone interested in steel drums to learn more about our product, our industry, and the issues we care about.”

Topics currently covered on the page include closure/assembly issues, the impact of recent FMCSA Hours of Service changes, steel drum accessory compatibility, steel drum lining selection, U.N./D.O.T. marking guidelines, and stacking drums filled with flammable liquids. New topics will be added on an as-needed basis. To propose a new topic, please contact IDI’s executive director, Susan Nauman.
