Intermec acquires Enterprise Mobile

Positions Intermec as a leading provider of outsourced enterprise mobility services

Intermec recently announced the acquisition of Enterprise Mobile, a provider of lifecycle services for mobile devices. Enterprise Mobile’s lifecycle services address every phase and requirement of mobility initiatives including mobile device deployment, user training, help desk support, replacement and repair, refresh and recycling/end-of-life. Enterprise customers benefit from these services by reducing the strain on operations and IT resources, and providing users with a single, expert point of contact for device support and management across multiple platforms.

This acquisition accelerates Intermec’s mission to be the leading provider of rugged mobile business solutions by extending its comprehensive hardware, software and lifecycle services for enterprise mobile applications including the ability to extend these services to the non-rugged market. Additionally, it solidifies Intermec’s commitment to its PartnerNet channel partners as these new services will be offered through its extensive network of Value Added Resellers (VARs). This enables Intermec partners to provide the most complete mobile solutions portfolio in the industry. Enterprise Mobile will be part of the Intermec Global Solutions (IGS) business unit led by Intermec Vice President Larry Klimczyk.

“Through our PartnerNet community, Intermec provides the industry’s first true complete and seamlessly integrated rugged mobile business solution, and our customers have experienced firsthand the benefits of deploying AIDC hardware from one source,” said Larry Klimczyk, Vice President of Intermec Global Solutions. “Providing comprehensive hardware, software and services is the next level in our transformation of mobile business processes. This is the vision for IGS, and the addition of Enterprise Mobile to our solutions portfolio will prove valuable to our customers as they focus more on their core competencies and outsource mobile device management to Intermec and our partners.”

Enterprise Mobile customers benefit from multi-year contracts across a range of industries and enterprise applications including sales, field service, warehouse, transportation and logistics and direct store delivery.

“We have seen a significant uptick in not only the number of enterprises with large-scale mobile initiatives, but also a much higher degree of complexity requiring support for multiple platforms and a wide array of devices,” said Steve Moore, COO of Enterprise Mobile. “Our services have enabled customers to achieve significant value in their enterprise mobile deployments; joining forces with Intermec will provide even greater business efficiencies and competitive advantage for our customers.”

All Intermec enterprise mobility services are available through the Company’s PartnerNet community.
