When companies introduce a new product at a tradeshow, one of the first questions potential customers ask is: Where has it been installed?
When SDI Group USA (Booth 707) showcased its new Sortrak flexible sortation unit at Modex this week, the company was able to answer that question with solid results from end users including apparel giants Abercrombie & Fitch and Wet Seal.
Designed to incline, decline and serpentine through a facility, Sortrak provides end users with a number of operational benefits. For example, the flexible system can be used in multi-level applications, which optimizes an operation’s space utilization. Because the sorter is powered by motors rather than belts or chains, it consumes less energy and only creates only about 65 decibels compared to some systems that create between 80 and 90 decibels of sound. The induction process can be manual or robotic, depending on the end user’s desired level of investment.
Modex 2012 is scheduled to be held February 6-9, 2012 in Atlanta’s Georgia World Congress Center. The tradeshow will showcase the latest manufacturing, distribution and supply chain solutions in the material handling and logistics industry. Modern’s complete Modex 2012 coverage.
