New standard for automatic guided vehicles released

Automatic Guided Vehicle Systems (AGVS) Industry Group of Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA) announces the release of ANSI/ITSDF B56.5-2012, Safety Standard for Driverless, Automatic Guided Industrial Vehicles and Automated Functions of Manned Industrial Vehicles.

Developed under the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) canvass method and approved by ANSI, the standard is a guide to safety requirements for system suppliers, manufacturers, purchasers and users for the design, construction, application, operation and maintenance of unmanned guided industrial vehicles and automated functions of manned industrial vehicles.
