These pallet alternatives not only result in unit loads that are integral to the packaged product during its storage and distribution, but they also improve efficiency and are recyclable. The benefits of the OptiLedge System and its potential to improve supply chain practices, save money, and improve sustainability.

Over the years, the OptiLedge has been marketed and sold through several different business entities but in April of 2014, OptiLedge LLC of Newnan, Georgia, purchased the exclusive worldwide rights to the OptiLedge.

“We focus strictly on customers outside of IKEA who want to take advantage of this great technology,” says Jeff Lamb, founder and president of OptiLedge LLC who’s been involved with the OptiLedge product for over eight years. “With production in the USA, Europe and Asia and a team of technical and sales professionals around the world, we can now effectively engage with any sized company and help them use this amazing technology. We are now truly positioned to deploy the OptiLedge worldwide for commercial use.”

Lamb further explains, “We are extremely excited to have acquired OptiLedge from IKEA. Now, whether it’s a U.S. company sourcing products in Asia, a European company sourcing in the Americas, or a South African company sourcing in the Europe, we provide one face to the customer no matter where they are located.”

The OptiLedge (called the Loading Ledge within IKEA) played a critical role in IKEA’s decision to phase out wood pallets as reported by Modern in 2011.
