Pallets: iGPS to open sales and innovation center

R&D center in Bentonville, Ark., will showcase supply chain technologies and improvements in plastic pallets.

Intelligent Global Pooling Systems (iGPS Company), operator of the first pallet rental service providing shippers and receivers with all-plastic pallets with embedded radio frequency identification (RFID) tags, has announced the opening of its new sales and innovation center in Bentonville, Ark. The technology center, which will open on Oct. 6, will allow supply chain professionals to experience innovations that improve product safety and enhance operational efficiencies. It is conveniently located among the numerous consumer goods and pharmaceutical manufacturers in Northwest Arkansas.

In four years of operation, iGPS offered another way for goods to be shipped throughout the North American supply chain, providing both shippers and receivers with operational savings. Its 100% recyclable all-plastic pallets are 30%  lighter than wood pallets. Additionally, embedded RFID tags enable shippers and receivers to track shipments throughout the supply chain.
