On Wednesday, Barcoding Inc.’s (Booth 4263) director of marketing Jody Costa explained the firm’s new Supply Chain Architecture practice dedicated to the identification, formulation and management of perfect order fulfillment processes.

Led by recent hire Chase Sowden, supply chain architect, this new practice takes a holistic approach to assess a customer’s current operations through the lens of methodologies like Lean, Six Sigma, Agile and Kaizen, said Costa.

“The goal is to use proven strategies to identify and then eliminate waste in the supply chain in order to increase revenue, decrease operational costs, and improve our customer’s overall experience with efficiency, accuracy and connectivity,” she noted.

Sowden and his team take a systematic approach, including a complete operational assessment of an operation’s current supply chain processes to determine potential improvement opportunities.

“For example, we may assess functions and areas like facility layout, performance tracking, management skills and technology effectiveness to determine why a company isn’t getting the productivity results they expected from an installation,” Costa explained. “Conversely, we can review existing areas for improvement, then recommend the appropriate solution—or combination of solutions—to help a customer achieve their long-term goals.”

Costa also introduced Catherine Derkosh, director of global marketing for Barcoding’s new partner B2M Solutions, a provider of analytics software.

“Our products deliver insights and actionable analytics for enterprise mobility OEMs and end users,” said Derkosh. “Through our agreement with Barcoding, we deploy software that helps measure both return on investment and root cause analysis for better optimization of mobile deployments.”
