Schaefer Systems International’s packaging systems division (Booth S2903) CEO Dave McCulloch unveiled the GlobalStac bulk container in a press conference yesterday.
The reusable plastic container has been engineered to utilize 95% of the cube in both 40-foot sea containers and 53-foot tractor trailers, he said: “The GlobalStac maximizes cube utilization, letting shippers send more product and increase revenue with every shipment.”
Available worldwide, the container collapses to a 12.9-inch height, allowing 256 to fit in trailers and 176 in seatainers for return shipments. It may be specified in seven different heights, and has the lightest tare weight of comparable products, McCulloch added.
The division also unveiled a new sustainability program as a complete life-cycle option. “Via ssitote.com a user can request a review of obsolete plastic totes and containers both for recycling suitability and their value,” he said. “We apply that value as a credit toward the purchase of new reusable packaging products.”
Additionally, McCulloch discussed Schaefer’s new manufacturing facility in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, that opened in March to serve existing and new clients in that country.
