Southworth Brochure Shows Practical Applications of Ergonomics

This little booklet done in comic book style uses simple illustrations to take readers on a walk through a hypothetical, yet typical, plant where the plant manager, safety director, and controller point out a variety of problems that were solved through the practical application of ergonomics.

Among the problems discussed are lifting and stretching injuries, worker fatigue, musculoskeletal disorders, and inefficient working arrangements that result in poor productivity or waste. In each case, the simple economical solution is pointed out and illustrated.

The brochure was produced in order to boil down ergonomic science to simple, practical, basic steps that can be taken to improve productivity, worker comfort, and safety.
