Today marks the first annual National Forklift Safety Day, including an event on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.
The Industrial Truck Association launched the event to highlight the safe use of forklifts and provide an opportunity for the industry to educate customers, policymakers and the Administration.
Speakers at today’s event included Brian Feehan, ITA president, Brian Butler, ITA chairman (president & CEO, Linde Material Handling, North America), Doug Kalinowski, OSHA, directorate of cooperative and state programs, Everett Eissenstat, chief international trade counsel to the ranking member of the U.S. Senate Finance Committee.
In addition to events throughout academia and the end-user community, several lift truck OEMs have announced programs to mark June 10 and to sustain the conversation around forklift safety going forward.
