SSI Schaefer Systems International (Booth 3763) is highlighting three new offerings in its booth, said Juan Cadrecha Menendez, director of sales and marketing.
The first, a new version of the Logimat vertical lift module (VLM) is making its U.S. debut, with new features including a rack-and-pinion drive system that does not require chains or belt drives, said Cadrecha Menendez. “It prevents misalignment of trays and has a variety of modular options for custom configuration to individual requirements.”
Also new, the Cuby (pronounced “Q-bee”) single-level shuttle joins the company’s three existing shuttle systems—the Navette, the Orbiter and the SDS. “The addition of the Cuby gives us the industry’s most complete family of shuttles, allowing Schaefer to match the differing throughput and product profile requirements of our customers in the most optimal way possible,” he said.
Finally, Schaefer’s WAMAS warehouse management and material flow system (WMS) has a variety of expanded functions, including the ability to achieve waveless picking. “It’s a more robust WMS that can be integrated with our products or stand-alone with equipment from other OEMs,” he added. “Our position is that using the right the technologies in the warehouse is important, if you don’t have the most robust WMS possible, you won’t get the best out of those systems.”
