In a press conference on Monday, TECSYS (Booth 3323) announced a partnership with the Warehousing Education and Research Council (WERC) to leverage the key performance indicator data from the organization’s annual DC Measure industry study.
“The resulting Visual Metrics executive dashboard allows decision makers to compare themselves against competitors, while also identifying areas for improvement,” said Dino Stamatiou, TECSYS’ practice leader for analytics and business intelligence.
“The study, in its 11th year, provides a benchmark of key measures by industry and their changes over time,” said Michael Mikitka, CEO of WERC. “Intelligence includes information from organizations in manufacturing, distribution and retail; TECSYS has taken the data and broken it down into a variety of segments for deeper dive into detail.”
Metrics are grouped in four primary areas: customer focused, operations focused, inbound/outbound, and capacity utilization/inventory accuracy. Users can compare their own performance relative to that of others in the same industry. The dashboard is on display in the company’s exhibit.
Additionally, TECSYS’ director of WMS product marketing John Reichert gave an overview of recent applications of the Visual-On-Voice solution—which displays images or action alerts on a wireless device that interfaces with voice-directed picking—including several implementations for exception management.
