Ugly AGVs from SI Systems are a pretty flexible solution

If your operation has a difficult or unusual automatic guided vehicle (AGV) application that might be called, well, “ugly,” then SI Systems (Booth B4857) can develop a pretty nifty solution, said Jim English, senior conveyance applications engineer.

If your operation has a difficult or unusual automatic guided vehicle (AGV) application that might be called, well, “ugly,” then SI Systems (Booth B4857) can develop a pretty nifty solution, said Jim English, senior conveyance applications engineer.

“The Ugly AGV program stemmed from organizations requiring custom and difficult AGV solutions, which many suppliers shun,” English noted. “We’ve developed a platform to create non-standard AGVs in multiple models—with options for towing and tugging and forked handling—that deliver an aggressive ROI and reduce maintenance costs.”
Also featured at the booth is a new robotic A-frame capable of picking from 2,000 to 4,200 orders per minute – regardless of the number of units in the order. Picking to tote, conveyor or belt, the system is controlled by intelligent software that automatically picks and verifies five units per second per SKU.

Modex 2018 is scheduled to be held April 9-12 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. The tradeshow will showcase the latest manufacturing, distribution and supply chain solutions in the materials handling and logistics industry. Modern’s complete coverage of the show.
