The latest release of viastore system’s Warehouse Execution Solution (WES) software integrates both warehouse management and warehouse control systems (WMS/WCS) into a single application. WES is showcased in Booth 4327.
“The software utilizes the same database, operating system and source code for easier implementations and lower overall cost of ownership in both new and retrofit applications,” explained Rod Wyles, viastore’s director of software services.
Ideal for facilities housing both conventional and automated operations, said Wyles, the software allows each zone to be configured differently according to its function and supporting technology.
“It drives any brand of automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS), shuttles, robotics, process controls and conveyors—plus supports people-executed tasks, such as RF scanning, voice-directed picking, paper-based picking and smart workstations,” he added.
In addition to controlling the equipment, WES monitors and optimizes material flow by fully integrating with external systems including SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards and legacy systems. It can be configured for use on Windows-, UNIX- and LINUX-based operating systems.
Through its real-time graphical user interface, WES also provides visual access to the status of inventory and equipment. In addition to generating reports about operational productivity, the system produces reports about equipment status, errors, uptime and more to enable predictive maintenance.
