June U.S.-bound shipments trend down, reports Panjiva
Following a three-month stretch of gains from March through April, United States-bound waterborne shipments fell in June, according to data recently issued by global trade intelligence firm Panjiva. The gains from March through April followed a decline in February, which was the first one in 24 months.

June retail sales see gains, report Commerce and NRF
Commerce reported that June retail sales, at $519.9 billion, were up 0.4% compared to May and up 3.4% compared to June 2018. NRF reported that June retail sales were up 0.6% in June on a seasonally-adjusted basis compared to May, and up 2.3% annually on an unadjusted basis.
